Glam up your holiday look with Elle Skin Perfection cosmetics
Ever daydreamed about starting your very own beauty company? Soraya R. Dickenson didn’t just wish for it—she worked for it. Drawing inspiration from her 20-year career in the fashion and skincare industries, and motivated by her passion for the art of makeup, the Montreal-based entrepreneur decided to create Elle Skin Perfection and ESP Cosmetics. “The name Elle is actually my grandmother’s name. I could say she got me hooked on lipsticks!” explains Dickenson, adding that she loves the sense of independence that makeup gives women.
“What I am most proud of is the hard work I’ve put into making sure my cosmetic line reflects my idea of inner and outer beauty,” says Dickenson, whose personal touches include designing the logo herself and even being the face of Elle Skin Perfection and ESP Cosmetics at first on social media (@elleskinperfectionespcosmetics).
Dickenson knew exactly what she wanted to offer: high-quality pigments and advanced skin-loving ingredients, and an extensive palette (with everything from pretty, natural shades to fashion-forward statement colours). She also knew exactly what she wanted to exclude: the 100-percent Canadian-made line is paraben-free, fragrance-free and cruelty-free, as well as allergy-tested and non-comedogenic. Above all, her ambition is to celebrate the true, individual beauty in each person.
Although Elle Skin Perfection and ESP Cosmetics have something to please every beauty enthusiast, Dickenson does have one hero product she especially adores right now: the bestselling Sheer Glo Illumination Lotion, which comes in six gorgeous tints. “What’s unique is you can use it alone, or add a few drops to any liquid foundation,” she says. Try blending a small amount on your neckline or décolleté for a sexy gleam, or use it as a highlighter over foundation to make your cheekbones pop. “Add a little or a lot—it’s up to you. It gives an instant glow.”
